Reflection 4..

Writing a narrative essay is exciting and creative, because you have to use your imagination to write the story.

You have to write three paragraphs. The first paragraph has the introduction of the story, and in the second paragraph you complete the story, and the conclusion has your recommendations of that story and what did you learned. The essay must be more than 200 words.

If you didn't use your imagination, many actions will be boring.

Reflection 3..

When writing a process essay and we concentrate on changing the verbs to the passive voice like the apple was eaten.

Writing a process essay is easy but you have to do some important steps:

The first paragraph has a general idea and it includes 25words.

In the main paragraph (the body) you have to use the passive voice in the process verbs and use linking words. It will have 100 words.

The conclusion it has a short repeated Idea and how the process will be; this will include 25 words.

Reflection 2..

I learned how to write a compare and contrast essay between two subjects and to choose what I prefer with the reason.

The first paragraph is about the two subjects and what is the relationship between them (general idea). This all has to be in 50 words.

The second paragraph talks about the similarities between the two subjects (at least 3 similarities) and it will be better if you add some examples.

The third paragraph talks about the differences (at least 3 differences) between the two subjects and it will show the details that you want to know.

In the conclusion you have to show what is more, the similarities or the differences and talk about your opinion and what you prefer and why.

Reflection 1..

Writing a procedure essay got easy for me, since we have done several practices with our teacher.

While writing procedure essays, we had to keep in mind the number of words which was an approximate of 150 words. What’s more, we should use the imperative form for example, “Do this”, “Do that”, “Don’t do this”. Also, not to forget to use the linking words “First”, “Secondly”, “Then”, “Next”, “After that”, “Finally”.

Always try to divide the essay into a minimum of three paragraphs, an introduction, a body, and a conclusion.

An awful memory..

Five years ago when I was still in high school, I went through an awful event that happened to me. On the last semester of my repeated 11th grade, I had a really bad headache. It was before my math exam, my parents thought I was faking it, the headache was so bad that I felt my eyes were to pop out therefore I was rushed to the hospital.

I don’t remember much what had happened at the hospital however, after 8 long hours in the operation room; I woke up to find myself in the recovery room. My parents were standing beside my bed, my mother holding my hand and crying I tried to joke about it to cheer her up, but when I looked at my father and saw the tears on his eyes, I couldn’t hold it. A tear rolled down my cheek when I saw my father’s tears, it was the first time I saw such tears on his eyes, it made me feel how important I was to my father, I was happy but in the same time sad to see his tears. After my parents left, my uncle walked in, he asked me how I was, I told him I was fine, though the image of my father still carved in my head. My uncle and I chatted a bit until he had to go so my grandmother can come in. My grandmother was also sobbing, she placed her hand softly on my forehead and prayed for me to get well soon, I kept quiet, I couldn’t say much.

A full day at the recovery room finally passed, I was taken to a normal hospital room and when the clock hit 12, all my family members were walking in with tears in their eyes; I thought this day was going to be a really long teary day. However, that thought changed when my uncle walked in with a huge box of Duncan daunts, I smiled saying that was what I needed. We started eating those sugary daunts while laughing and making jokes at me and my sugary.

People kept coming in and out for the two months I spent at the hospital, walking in with tears then walking out with laughter as I treated them to a daunt. What I really enjoyed about being in the hospital was the daunts that my uncle would bring me every day, on the other hand, the worst memory was those tears I saw in my father’s eyes.

How to produce Olive oil..

Olive oil is important to many people. It’s a bit difficult and long process to produce olive oil. I will write the steps of producing olive oil.

First, between September and December; the olives are harvested by hand or with sticks and rakes. Then, they are collected on nets beneath the trees. After that, leaves and small stones are removed and the olives are run through a washer to remove any impurities before crushing. Next, within 24-36 hours of picking, the olives are crushed by granite millstones. The step after that is that the olive paste obtained is layered on mats which are put under pressure from a screw or hydraulic press. Then, the liquid produced is collected and put through a centrifugal separator to separate the water and impurities from the oil. Finally, after centrifugation, the oil is obtained.

As you can see, it’s a long and difficult process but by following the previous steps carefully you will end up with a high-quality olive oil.

Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong..

There are many beautiful cities in the world. Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong are two of the most exciting and interesting. In this essay I will discuss the similarities and differences of these two unique cities.

There are a lot of similarities between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi but I will talk about only three. First, they both have many tourist destinations. In Abu Dhabi tourists can visit Emirates Palace hotel, the Heritage Village and the wonderful beach and corniech. In Hong Kong they can go to Victoria Peak, Repulse Bay and the central markets. Second, they both have free education. In Hong Kong it is free and compulsory from 6-15. In Abu Dhabi it is free from five to post graduate. Finally, Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong are famous for shopping. In Abu Dhabi you can shop at Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi Mall and Khaldiya Mall. In Hong Kong you can buy all your needs in the Central market and many other different shops. This means that there are many similarities between Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi.

There are also many differences between the two cities and I will discuss three of them. The first difference is the economy. Abu Dhabi’s economy depends on oil and gas, Hong Kong’s economy is based on trade. They buy and sell many items. The second difference is the language and religion. In Abu Dhabi most people speak Arabic and English, but in Hong Kong they speak Cantonese and English. Also, the religions are different; in Hong Kong most people follow traditional Chinese religions whereas in Abu Dhabi most people are Muslim. The last difference is the weather. Hong Kong has a subtropical climate. The average daily temperature is between 26⁰C and 31⁰C in the summer and there is 2159mm of rain every year. On the other hand the temperature in Abu Dhabi in the summer is between 35⁰C and 47⁰C and there is very little rain. These are the most important differences.

In summary, we can see a lot of similarities and differences between Abu Dhabi and Hong Kong. In my opinion everyone should visit both of these wonderful and exciting cities.

Mall of the Emirates and City Center..

One special thing about Dubai is that it has many shopping centers and malls. Two very popular malls in Dubai are Mall of the Emirates and City Center. This essay will discuss the similarities and differences of Mall of the Emirates and City Center.

Mall of the Emirates and City Center have a lot of similarities. First of all, they are very large malls. For example, both of them take a long time to walk across because of their large size. If you don’t know these malls, you can easily be lost in them. The second similarity is that both of them are extremely popular. During the week and also on the weekends, Mall of the Emirates and City Center are full of shoppers. Lastly, both City Center and Mall of the Emirates are famous tourist destinations. For instance, when visitors come to Dubai, they all go to see Mall of the Emirates and City Center. This means that there are several similarities between Mall of the Emirates and City Center.

However, Mall of the Emirates and City Center have many differences. First, Mall of the Emirates and City Center are different in age. City Center is the oldest Western style mall in Dubai, while Mall of the Emirates is very young. It is only 2 years old. Second, while both malls are very large, Mall of the Emirates is much larger than City Center. Actually, Mall of the Emirates is the largest mall in the Middle East. Finally, Mall of the Emirates has many shops that sell extremely expensive things. City Center has more medium price shops. Even though Mall of the Emirates and City Center have a lot in common, they are also very different.

In conclusion, the Mall of the Emirates and City Center are quite similar in some ways, but they are also different. I like both malls and you can find me shopping in either one on the weekends.
